Phillips Gallery Exhibition

I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of a group show at the Phillips Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah for February 2021. I was going to be exhibiting my newest encaustic art pieces alongside two other artists, sort of… let me explain. Phillips Gallery has a main floor exhibition space where Tom Bettin and Steve Dayton displayed their work. In the basement, the Dibble Gallery, was where my space was I had three full walls to fill which is about 20 pieces of art.

I was asked to exhibit in late October 2020. I started gathering thoughts and ideas and began to make panels for my art, but then I caught Covid in mid November. It was a mild case but I had to quarantine for 10 days on Thanksgiving was my 11th day and I was thankful to be healthy and didn’t give it to my children.

I worked hard through the holidays and through January and finally ended up with 22 pieces of art. When I look back I can hardly believe it was completed. I basically buckled down and went into “school finals” mode for two months.

The show was a success and I have been displaying art on a regular basis at Phillips Gallery ever since. You can see the latest I have at the gallery here.
